Just warms the cockles of your heart, don't it?

Friday has been christened Question Day by my 9 year old, the thinking being that Saturday is not a school day, so it's fine that the girls pepper me with questions for as long as they like when I'm tucking them in.

I've been doing pretty well on what words mean and where they come from, fair to middling on Geography [but I do know where Budapest is] and strong on history, song lyrics and natural world stuff. It's the philosophy that's just killing me. Current outstanding queries:

• You know the way God created everything and said "Let there be light" and all that? Who created God?

• The Tooth Fairy makes no sense whatsoever Daddy. Discuss.

• Why can't I find anything about the Easter Bunny in my religion book?

• If Santa is so clever and magical, how come he ran out of parts for the Wii last year? And how come boys and girls who were on the "Nice" list didn't get a Wii then? Wouldn't it have been cleverer for Santa to give them a lump of coal and pretend they were on the "Naughty" list?
