Lisa hosts the Carniversary over at HR Thoughts featuring a splendid array of posts. Back when Evil HR Lady first kicked off the HR Carnival, there were just four posts. This carniversary edition has 16 excellent contributions, each one worth visiting.Pop on over to Lisa's backyard and have a look-see.

Generally agree with the blackberry comment but maybe consider that if used with correctly that leash can also be a little liberating.
I work for a Department that INSISTS that I be contact-able at all times. But through judicious use of filters and different types of alerts I manage to have it NOT go off every time I get an email. Only buzzes when I get an email from someone on a list of high priorities that I maintain.
It does buzz when I get a PIN type message but people in my company refrain from using these for all but genuinely important or emergency issues.
That way I can ignore the thing unless it gets a message I really need to look at. It is on my hip pretty much all the time but 95% of the time I don't look at it (except to check the news and stock prices),
For lavatory news reading it is great.
